Northeast Jones remains in the driver seat in claiming the No. 2 spot in Region 5-4A. 

Scoring in every inning Tuesday night, including a five-run fifth, Northeast Jones topped Mendenhall 14-4 on Senior Night in “The Jungle.” 

Northeast Jones envoked the mercy-rule with its five-run fifth and improves to 17-5 overall and 6-3 in Region 5-4A.

Reid Reynolds picked up his third win of the season on the mound, tossing the complete five-inning affair. The PRCC signee allowed four runs on five hits, and fanned six Mendenhall batters. 



Reynold further helped his cause with a three-hit night at the plate. He and Alex Harrison led NEJ with three-hits and an RBI apiece. NEJ tallied 14 hits in the contest. Tyler Harper, Patrick Little and Dayvis McLeod also had a multi-hit night. 

Cole Mozingo, Little and McLeod led in RBI with two apiece in the win. 

All four Mendenhall runs came in the third inning. The four-run third for Mendenhall tied the game at four-all. NEJ answered with two runs in the bottom of the inning, three in the fourth and five in the fifth to earn its 17th win of the season. 

NEJ travels to Mendenhall Friday night to close out the series.
